Project: Ophanim - Expanding the Divine Connection
A continuation of the previous Seraphim piece, this project expands upon the celestial hierarchy by centering around Ophanim, seamlessly integrating divine symbolism and geometric structures to explore the connection between humanity and the sacred.
The Background
After receiving the Seraphim tattoo in the first session and being highly satisfied with the result, Jaeil Jung expressed a desire to expand the concept further.
To build upon this theme, we designed a second session featuring Ophanim, one of the highest celestial orders, ensuring that it blended harmoniously with the existing piece.
Ophanim and Cherubim, both regarded as sacred beings, were depicted using geometric aura structures and circular compositions to emphasize their divinity.
A dove was placed between Ophanim and Seraphim, symbolizing a messenger of God, while Cherubim, often portrayed as childlike angels, were included to enhance the celestial atmosphere.
This session was not just about adding a new element it was about expanding the narrative of the divine, deepening the visual and symbolic layers of the design.
The Artist's Perspective
This project was not merely about illustrating celestial beings, but about exploring humanity's pursuit of the divine and the fusion of imagination with spirituality.
A key addition in this session was the frequency-shaped element in the center, inspired by quantum physics' wormhole hypothesis.
It symbolizes the idea that through spiritual refinement, humans might form small scale wormholes, creating a bridge to the divine.
Additionally, the carved stone face with an emphasized eye represents humanity's awe at glimpsing the divine realm and the enlightenment gained from such an encounter.
Rather than simply depicting heavenly figures, this design conveys the journey of human curiosity, faith, and the search for higher understanding.
